Our Mission
The employees and members of the Beckley Police Department are dedicated to creating and preserving an environment that offers a sense of security, safety and well-being to all people within the community served. This commitment requires that the department operate as a part of the community, and in partnership with its citizens, community organizations and businesses, and all other governmental agencies to define goals and develop strategies necessary to achieve those goals. In support of this mission, the members of the department are obligated to perform those duties required to prevent crime, protect lives and property and preserve peace and order through diligent and impartial enforcement of laws and ordinances, while simultaneously preserving the constitutionally guaranteed rights of all.
